Remarks | I first saw the flash of moving light through my window in a southwest direction. Initially, I thought it might be a plane on fire falling to earth. However, the trajectory and speed didn’t seem that to be a likely explanation. I assumed the object crashed and landed in the Santa Ana Mountains behind our home. I was concerned about fire given that we live in a hazardous brush area. I immediately ran outside and listened for the sounds of a crash, but never heard any. I never smelled any smoke. The falling object appeared to have white flames trailing behind it. There was no trail in the sky that I could detect although it was after the sun had set. The object was very low on the horizon which I found alarming. I have never seen anything like this in my 63 years. |
